The Pope said many Christians were persecuted for their faith

According to a Reuters news source the Pope recently said over 800 Italians were killed in the 15th century for not converting to Islam and as well many Christians were also persecuted!

Pope Francis is also concerned about Christians in other parts of the world especially the middle east.

Finally to see where the pope stands on the abortion issue, he threw his full support with an organization promoting legal protection for embryos.

The cut off Messiah

01ff5b7Ray: In this post Brad and I discuss the cut off Messiah prophecy of Daniel and we discuss the Sabbath.

I went on to a long rabbit trail but the information about the Messiah I covered and our relationship to Him is important. The short answer however to Brad’s question about whether it is possible that the Antichrist is alive today is “YES it is possible”. Because all the pre-requisites for Christ’s calling the Church out of this world prior to his raining judgments on the earth have already been fulfilled. The primary one being that the Jews have once again become a Nation.

A Radio Chat with Ray & Brad in 2010

picture-3552 Ray: We have been quiet at this blog. We hope at some point to increase our activity. I thought I would post a radio show that was aired on Blog Talk radio in 2010. Brad and I met in 2008 when I ran in the Canadian Federal Election as a candidate for the Newmarket-Aurora riding, representing the Christian Heritage Party of Canada. Brad interviewed me on a local Newmarket Radio station and on Internet radio several times over the following two years. (We have lost our archives of most of these interviews.) It was after this last radio show that Brad and I began to talk about sharing a blog site to present some of the things that we discussed on his show.

We spoke about a book which tells the truth about global warming in that program by an author named Glenn McKerron.  We hope to have Glenn on our YouTube show soon to revisit the topic of Global Warming.

Christmas 2012

01ff5b7Ray: Brad and I got together to discuss some things related to Christmas last year but we never ended up posting our get together. I decided to post this anyways even though we are late in posting it.

The passage from Jeremiah which we mention in the video as quoted from the Simplified King James Version Bible

HEAR you the word which the LORD speaks unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus says the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen,
And be not dismayed at the signs of heaven;
For the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain (empty):
For one cuts a tree out of the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They decorate it with silver and with gold;
They fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it does not move. (Jeremiah 10.1-4, SKJV)

United Kingdom Woman wins case over removal of Crucifix!

According to a recent article in the Toronto Star Jan 10,2013, the top court in Europe ruled that there was discrimination against a former employee of British Airways by making her remove her crucifix during work.

The British Airways employee Nadia Eweida, was sent home in November 2006 for refusing to remove a small silver crucifix that at the time was against company rules that forbids employees from wearing religious symbols on the job.

Eventually British Airways changed their policy in this regard, and Nadia returned to work but she continued to seek compensation for lost wages during that time as well as suits regarding religious discrimination.

According to the courts they claimed that British Airways exercised their right also to protect a certain corporate image. but Ms, Eweida’s cross was discreet and didn’t detract from her professional appearance.

After the verdict was handed down Ms. Eweida exclaimed, ”Thank You Jesus” after the highest court in Europe handed down the verdict.

No word yet if Ms. Eweida is carrying on with the lawsuit to British Airways.

Upon the decision Europe’s top court said the ”Religious Freedom is aright, but not an absolute One”jesusIs Religion On the Way Out Or facing a Revival?

Is this the real origin of Christmas?

BradSnell_IconBrad: Some people call it a ”Conspiracy of Christmas”, or does it go back in time to Pagan rituals? The Christmas Tree is it a tradition or a symbol of paganism?

Lawlessness among youth depends on Morals

01ff5b7Ray: Another author who has me on his mail list, Tim Blodoew has written an excellent article regarding Youth Crime which I think our readers may find interesting. Tim questions the literacy of todays academics for their inability to recognize that Youth who have “Godly Morals” are different from youth that have “Morals” without God included.

Dear Ray,
It is remarkable how illiterate today’s academics and professionals are. It should be obvious to Christians that professionalism is primarily a theological and ethical matter, not primarily a technical standing. Because of this, we should not expect non-Christian professionals or experts to be as competent as Christian professionals

In this respect, we are talking about Christians who operate Christianly in their sphere. A professing Christian who is in fact an operational humanist throughout the week is not what we have in view here.

The illiteracy of today’s heathen academic professionals was highlighted in a recent piece from Creation magazine:

“University of Cambridge researchers questioned teenagers about their attitudes to lawlessness and asked what criminal things they had done (cross-checking their answers with police records). The research provided important insight into last year’s UK riots – why some young people went on a lawless rampage while others did not. The study found that teenagers who avoided crime did so not because they feared the consequences or lacked the chance, but because they saw it as wrong. Conversely, teenagers with little sense of right and wrong were responsible for the vast majority of juvenile crimes. The lack of a sense of morality was the single most important factor in teenagers breaking the law.

“Professor Per-Olof H. Wikström who led the study observed: ‘The idea that opportunity makes the thief – that young people will inevitably commit crime in certain environments – runs counter to our findings’. Academics around the world have heralded the research as ‘groundbreaking’ and a ‘breakthrough’ in understanding teenage crime. One US academic described it as ‘among the most significant works in criminology in decades’” (“Creation Magazine” [34,4, 23012], 11).

Reality confirms Biblical truth, truth that was reflected in ethics and social analysis within a Christendom that covered Europe and North America for generations, yet a couple of generations later, academic professionals are so illiterate that they call data which confirms easily accessible truth “groundbreaking.” That is remarkable, and evidence of how inferior, if not qualitatively different, the humanist/atheist definitions of professionalism and intelligence are. (This is also one of the fundamental arguments against non-Christian schooling.)

Christians should not dignify these people with the labels of professional, expert or academic. We don’t need to disrespect these people, but we should seek opportunities to highlight the irrational foolishness of the kingdom of Satan – the kingdom of Humanism – in contrast to the rationality and truth and power of the Kingdom of God. This is hard to do if the “Christianity” we live doesn’t look much different from the worldview practiced by our humanistic neighbours – seven days a well, 24 hours a day.

Let’s be different. Let’s be ambassadors of the King. Let’s be Kingdom citizens.

Boy and Girl Scouts Of Britain soon to welcome Atheists

851d0e812c8bfb4572e964c1233a50c7Brad: In a recent article in Metro news Dec 5,2012 atheists could be allowed to join Britain’s Boy and Girl Scouts!

According to the article, the Scout Association plans to draft an alternative oath specially for younger people with no references to God in the new reboy girl scoutsvised oath.

As well, younger people who do not have a faith are also welcome to join in this new revised oath especially geared to them.

The Scouts have offered versions referring to God to Muslim , Hindus, and other religions, but none so far to atheists.

According to Wayne Bulpitt ,the associations chief commissioner, he wanted the memberships opinion on this new revised oath, to keep them up to date with worldly views as well as to encourage memberships.

”However throughout their 105 year history the scouts continue to evolve so they will remain relevant to communities across the United Kingdom” quoted by Wayne Bulpitt.

Mr. Bulpitt also states they are a value based movement and religion will remain a key value!

Seems to this writer, how can the Scouts still have religion as a key value of the organization, when they welcome people who actually believe in nothing of religious value?cross

One thing though Mr Bulpitt states is that he plans to keep the oath to the queen

In this writers opinion ,the Scouts seem to throw out all of there values and ethics over their 105 year history for the sake of new members, members who will disband the organization because of their belief in nothing!

01ff5b7Ray: I was a scout earlier along my journey of life. When I was, there was little evidence of true Christianity in the organization. Although we did meet in an Anglican Church. The leaders cursed, drank, smoked and were not church attenders for the most part. There was no restriction on joining as evidenced by the leaders themselves. I imagine the oath to the queen and to God were performed without belief by many. The organization was originally started by the Anglican Church and always intended for atheists and others to join but it intended to influence them by befriending them in the name of Christ. And Atheists and the like were never turned away. (The oaths of allegiance were uttered by the atheists in those days when they were less militant against the organization and society in general.)

This is the fate of many Christian formed organizations which actually had there start as an attempt to encourage Christian friendships. However many of them downplayed their purpose so much that Christ was pretty much never mentioned. The Bible calls it putting your light under a bushel. What good is it if no one sees it?

Another such organization which succumbed was the Young Mans Christian Organization (YMCA). Today it is secular. It long ago gave up on basing its code of ethics on what would be called “Godly Morals”. The same will happen to the Boy Scouts. It already has happened on occasion as evidenced by the cases of child abuse reported.

As a side note the word in Noah Websters dictionary “MORALS” at one time gave the definition “pertaining to Godliness”.  That was expunged a hundred years ago when Merriam took over the dictionary. It might interest you to know that the Websters dictionary was written as an after thought by Noah in order to accompany the Websters Bible that he laboured many years prior to produce. The Webster Bible has since  disappeared but the now corrupted dictionary remains.

Ugandan president repents of personal, national sins

Ray: I am reposting this blog article as it relates to religion. In that one of the things being confessed is the adherence to secularism. Yes Secularism is a religion. The term ”Secular Humanism” was first coined in the early 20th century. You may wish to read the “Secular Humanist Manifesto” at some point. It is a filled with the statements “We believe…”. One of those beliefs stated is in the philosophy called Evolution (It’s not a science). God says there are only 2 religions. One is the religion of recognizing Him and more specifically His only begotten Son as God and creator. The other religion is the religion of man. I also include this article because contrary to public opinion, politicians do influence and legislate morality. That is why religious beliefs are an important factor in how we are led as a nation (in whichever nation you are in.)

The Bible says “lean not unto your own understanding.” The ills of mankind all stem from attempts to lean on our own understanding and our rejection of God. It is refreshing to find that a politician is willing to confess the sins of himself and his country. If only more politicians would do this perhaps God would heal our land (In each of our respective countries) as He promises to do if we confess our sin.

2 Chronicles 7 – 14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Watch now to see what great things begin to happen in that country. Now is a good time to invest in Uganda for you investors out there.

The Ugandan newssite New Vision reports President Yoweri Museveni celebrated Uganda’s 50th anniversary of independence from Britain at the National Jubilee Prayers event by publicly repenting of his personal sin and the sins of the nation.

“I stand here today to close the evil past, and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for your forgiveness,” Museveni prayed.

“We confess these sins, which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation. We confess sins of idolatry and witchcraft which are rampant in our land. We confess sins of shedding innocent blood, sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal,” Museveni said.

“Forgive us of sins of pride, tribalism and sectarianism; sins of laziness, indifference and irresponsibility; sins of corruption and bribery that have eroded our national resources; sins of sexual immorality, drunkenness and debauchery; sins of unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and revenge; sins of injustice, oppression and exploitation; sins of rebellion, insubordination, strife and conflict,” Museveni prayed.

Next, the president dedicated Uganda to God.

Did Jesus have a Wife?

Brad: According to a recent article in the Toronto Star Sept 20,2012 a Harvard Scholar discovered a fourth century fragment of papyrus providing possibly evidence that Jesus might have had a wife!

The text written in Coptic and then translated from a second Greek text, contains dialogue in which Jesus gives reference to having a wife whom he identifies as Mary.

Christian tradition has long believed that Jesus was unmarried. The Harvard scholar claims that there is no real evidence to support that theory. A professor of Coptology who reviewed the 2006 discovery of the Gospel Of Judas says the text accurately quotes Jesus as saying ”My Wife”.

ImageBut one is to  question whether the document actually is authentic according to Stephen Emmel who is a professor at the University of Muenster.

There are various opinions about these discoveries of course, and it is the first case upon discovery of the papyrus document that have Christians claiming that Jesus did in fact have a wife.

It must be noted that upon this discovery that Jesus was married or had a female disciple it could have a ripple effect during the current debates over the role of women in the church!

Ray: This is a fallacy. The giveaway is the fact that it is fourth century information. In the fourth century there were over 50 extra non-canon scriptures written by enemies of Christianity that wished to invent non-truths in order to disprove the truth of the Word of God. The New Testament is a collection of writings by eye witnesses to the events or close to eye witnesses from the first century not the fourth century. What you have here is a classic “Skeptic quoting from Skeptic reasoning here. Circular reasoning in other words.” Because someone from the fourth century did not believe the claims made in the first century they wrote extra ficticious gospels such as the gospel of Judas, gospel of Mary Magdeline and the gospel of Barnubus as works of fiction in an attempt to counter the truth of the eyewitness accounts which were widely circulated four centuries earlier. The people who did this are known as gnostics. The worst gnostic example we have today is the religion of Mohammed wherein a gnostic falicious document was written in the sixth century which contradicts the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. And sadly there is a large following of non-believers in Christ as Messiah and the son of God today which we call Muslims.

As interesting as fallicious and circular arguments are that are based on imaginations of people who lived four centuries after the time of Jesus we should pay attention to the truth of the facts that were reported by the Eyewitness who wrote the Bible and ignore these imposters and all the Skeptics today that would rather follow imposters.

Luke 1 – 1 SINCE many have taken in hand to set out in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, 2 even as the ones who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the Word, delivered them unto us; (SKJV)

2 Peter 1 – 16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables (Gk:mythos), when we revealed to you the power and coming of our LORD Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to Him from the excellent glory, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.” (SKJV)

Fragments of the New Testament have been found which date to the early 2nd century and some into the first century, which verify that these statements about being eyewitness are viable statements, whereas evidence for the ficticious deuterocanonical gospels of the gnostics cannot be found prior to the fourth century.

I have no doubt that this fallicious gospel makes the claim that it does but it is a late claimant to have an opinion about it as it was written many centuries after the fact.

Also you might notice the professor is a professor of Coptology. Coptic Christianity is prevalent in Egypt. The false gospels were written in Alexandria Egypt.  Another clue is that this false gospel was written on papyrus, the writing method of Egyptians. If you want to follow true Christianity you will base your knowledge from Bible lands. The writings of the Bible from these lands are on parchment (leather). The First Christian missionaries were sent out from Antioch and a second Antioch was the first non-jewish location that received the gospel. It is located near Istanbul. Istanbul is the place were early church historian Eusebius said the original copies of the New Testament Scriptures were kept.  (Not Alexandria Egypt). The Bible warns heavily against Egypt. It asks can anything good come out of Egypt?

Jesus did have woman disciples but not apostles. We are all called to be disciples of Christ both men and women. However Christ did do much to advance the cause of women. Women are created equal to men however the Bible is very clear that women have differing roles than men, including they are not allowed to teach men in religious instruction.

1 Timothy 2 – 11 Let the woman learn in quietness with all subjection. 12 But I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in quietness. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (SKJV)
